MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State women’s basketball head coach Jeff Mittie has bolstered his 2026–27 roster with the addition of international forward Shaila Nde from Spain.
Mittie expressed enthusiasm about the signing, highlighting Nde’s athleticism, developing offensive skill set, and ability to create off the dribble while continuing to improve her perimeter shooting. He also pointed to her valuable experience competing with Spain’s national teams, including winning gold last summer.
Nde recently played alongside current Wildcat Gina Garcia on Spain’s U20 National Team, helping secure the 2025 FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket title. She appeared in seven games, averaging 6.9 points on 47.5% shooting, along with 7.3 rebounds, 0.9 assists, and a strong 76.9% mark from the free-throw line. Her rebounding efforts ranked among the top 10 in the tournament.
Earlier in 2025, she contributed to Spain’s bronze medal finish at the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup, averaging 6.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assist over seven appearances.

During the 2024 FIBA U16 Women’s EuroBasket, Nde averaged 9.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting an efficient 56.9% from the field. She recorded three double-digit scoring performances, including a standout showing in the third-place game with 12 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.
At the club level, Nde competed for Segle XXI in Spain’s Liga Femenina 2, where she averaged 10.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists across 22 games.
Kansas State is coming off a 19–18 season in 2025–26, marking its fifth consecutive postseason appearance and its 10th in the past 12 years.
