The Chicago Cubs will close out their series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday night at PNC Park following an impressive 10-4 victory in Wednesday’s matchup.

Despite recent struggles at the plate, Dansby Swanson turned in one of his better performances of the season, recording two hits, a walk, two runs scored and a stolen base in the win.

 

 

Ahead of the series finale, the Cubs officially revealed their starting lineup, with Swanson once again batting near the bottom of the order despite his encouraging outing.

Chicago’s lineup for Thursday features Pete Crow-Armstrong in center field, Nico Hoerner at second base, Michael Busch at first, Alex Bregman at third, Ian Happ in left field, Seiya Suzuki in right, Moises Ballesteros serving as designated hitter, Miguel Amaya behind the plate and Swanson at shortstop. Colin Rea gets the start on the mound.

Swanson enters Thursday’s game batting .190 with 34 hits, seven home runs, 27 RBIs, 32 runs scored and four stolen bases across 53 appearances this season.

Now in his fourth season with Chicago, the former World Series champion continues to search for consistency as the Cubs look to build momentum heading deeper into the season.
