Auburn’s Dillon Wade Signs With Green Bay Packers as Undrafted Free Agent
Although the 2026 NFL Draft has already concluded, several Auburn Tigers players are still finding opportunities at the professional level. One of the latest to earn a shot is offensive lineman Dillon Wade, who has officially signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent.
Wade’s journey to the NFL reflects years of steady development and consistency across multiple college programs. He began his collegiate career at Tulsa, where he spent two seasons with the Golden Hurricane. During his time there, he appeared in 16 games and quickly established himself as a dependable offensive lineman capable of handling different assignments along the front line.
After proving his potential at Tulsa, Wade transferred to Auburn, where he became a key part of the Tigers’ offensive line rotation. His impact at Auburn was immediate, as he earned a starting role and maintained it throughout most of his time with the program. Over three seasons with the Tigers, Wade built a reputation for durability, reliability, and versatility.
One of his most impressive attributes was his consistency in staying on the field. He started nearly every game during his Auburn career, including all 12 games in the 2025 season. Over time, he developed an impressive streak of 34 consecutive starts, missing only one game in his first season in 2023, which came against the California Golden Bears.
Wade also delivered standout performances against top competition. One of his best outings came against Texas A&M, where he earned an impressive 92 percent performance grade, showcasing his ability to hold his own against elite defensive talent in the SEC. His strength, awareness, and adaptability made him a valuable piece of Auburn’s offensive structure.
During his time with the Tigers, Wade also demonstrated positional flexibility. He initially played at left tackle when he first arrived at Auburn, but coaches later moved him to left guard ahead of the 2024 season. The transition highlighted his versatility and willingness to adapt to team needs, a trait that likely helped him attract NFL attention despite going undrafted.
For the Green Bay Packers, Wade’s signing adds depth to an offensive line group that was already a focus during the draft process. The Packers prioritized improving protection for quarterback Jordan Love, making several moves to strengthen their interior and tackle positions. They notably selected Kentucky center Jager Burton in the fifth round, further reinforcing their commitment to building a more stable offensive front.
Wade joins a growing list of Auburn linemen continuing their football journeys in the NFL. The Tigers also saw offensive linemen Connor Lew and Jeremiah Wright hear their names called on Day 3 of the draft, reflecting the program’s strong reputation for producing NFL-ready talent in the trenches.
