South Carolina football has positioned itself among the final five schools for a highly regarded 4-star recruit in the 2027 class.
There’s plenty of optimism surrounding the situation. Aiden Gibson, a 4-star running back from Woodruff, South Carolina, revealed on Tuesday that he has narrowed his choices to South Carolina, Penn State, Rutgers, North Carolina, and Louisville. He’s also received offers from several other major programs, including Florida, Tennessee, Florida State, and Indiana.
Gibson, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 205 pounds, is scheduled to take an official visit to South Carolina on June 5. He also has visits planned to Rutgers and Penn State, and his top five came together after an unofficial trip to Penn State on April 4.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Gibson is rated as the No. 322 overall prospect in the 2027 class, the No. 23 running back nationally, and the No. 7 player in South Carolina.
