You Won’t Believe This: Cole Cubelic Unleashes Brutal Take on Cam Coleman in Auburn Meltdown

He shared his thoughts Tuesday morning during McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning, and for the SEC Network college football analyst, the discussion centered squarely on Cam Coleman. The former Auburn wide receiver announced Sunday that he had committed to Texas, an SEC rival, after becoming one of the most sought-after players in this transfer portal cycle.

Even amid Auburn’s significant struggles—particularly on offense—in 2025, Coleman still produced solid numbers, finishing the season with 56 receptions for 708 yards and five touchdowns. Still, Cubelic made it clear he wasn’t impressed and used his radio appearance with Greg McElroy to clarify his stance on Coleman’s departure.

Cubelic argued that no single player leaving can derail a program, calling that belief a “loser mentality.” He criticized the idea that Auburn’s success hinged on Coleman or quarterback Deuce Knight, challenging fans to identify games the Tigers won solely because of either player.

His message to Auburn supporters was blunt: stop fixating on Coleman’s move to Texas or Knight’s transfer to Ole Miss. Cubelic warned against trying to build a team around a small number of players who, in his view, have yet to fully prove themselves and have displayed questionable behavior along the way. He questioned whether such players truly possess the leadership needed to carry a program forward.

Cubelic also dismissed the emotional reaction surrounding Coleman’s exit, noting that Auburn fans were lamenting the loss of a player with fewer than 100 career catches and another who appeared in just one game. In his view, that perspective needed to change.

Ultimately, Cubelic urged fans to move on, focus on the future, and maintain perspective. He emphasized that he would rather have multiple tough, reliable contributors_attach his team than one highly hyped individual. Citing past Auburn receivers, he said he’d choose players known for grit and effort over star power, making it clear he values competitiveness and commitment above all else.
