East Carolina has secured another notable addition through the transfer portal, landing former Furman wide receiver Ja’Keith Hamilton. The commitment gives the Pirates a proven pass catcher with experience at the FCS level as they continue to reload their offense ahead of the upcoming season.
Hamilton emerged as a productive target during his time at Furman, where he showcased strong hands, crisp route-running, and the ability to create separation in space. His versatility allowed him to line up both on the outside and in the slot, making him a matchup problem for opposing defenses and a reliable option in key situations.
At Furman, Hamilton consistently flashed playmaking ability, whether stretching the field vertically or turning short receptions into meaningful gains after the catch. His production and steady development made him one of the more dependable receivers in the Paladins’ passing attack.

For ECU, Hamilton’s addition addresses a key need in the wide receiver room, adding both depth and competition. The Pirates have been active in the portal as they look to surround their quarterback with more experienced playmakers capable of making an immediate impact in the American Athletic Conference.
Hamilton is expected to join the program for offseason activities, giving him time to learn the system and build chemistry with the ECU offense. His commitment continues a strong run of transfer additions for the Pirates as they position themselves for a more dynamic and balanced attack next season.
