So I posted a few times on here about patches and the like. Was really hoping they would have them for sale at Villa Park but no dice. I’ve gone to a patch manufacturer with the idea and this is the render they’ve come back with. Basically just looking to see how many (if any) would be interested in one of these. It would be limited quantity obviously so would be first come first served. Happy to ship worldwide. Comment below or send me a pm if interested, cheers 👍 Just to add, this is NOT for profit. Any additional funds if any, will be donated to the charities supported by the event. I’ll be totally transparent with everything on the money side, I’m not looking to gain anything except a patch for my jacket

Absolutely! Here’s a polished and expanded 900-word version of your original message, staying true to your tone—friendly, clear, and transparent—while providing more detail for potential buyers and maintaining the non-profit spirit of your project:

Hey everyone,

I’ve posted a few times now about patches and memorabilia from the event, and I just wanted to give a proper update—and hopefully gauge some interest from others who might be in the same boat as me.

Like many of you, I was really hoping there’d be patches available for sale at Villa Park. It just felt like the kind of event that needed something tangible to remember it by—something simple, easy to display or wear, and meaningful. Unfortunately, no patches were available at the venue, which was a bit of a letdown. I know I wasn’t the only one left wishing we had something physical to mark the occasion.

So I decided to take the initiative and make it happen myself.

I reached out to a reputable patch manufacturer with a concept, and after a bit of back-and-forth, they’ve come back with a render of the final design. I have to say, I’m genuinely pleased with how it looks. It’s clean, well-made, and captures the spirit of the event really well—exactly what I was hoping for. I’ll be sharing the render here so you can see for yourself what it’s going to look like.

Now, this isn’t a business or a money-making scheme—far from it. I’m not in this to profit. I just wanted a patch for my jacket, and after chatting to a few others who were interested too, I thought, “Why not open it up to anyone who wants one?”

The idea is to place a limited run order with the manufacturer. These would be limited quantity, so once they’re gone, they’re gone. It’ll be a first come, first served kind of situation, just to keep things fair and manageable.

I’ll cover the upfront costs and organize everything, but obviously I’ll need to collect payments from those who want one once I know final costs. I’ll only be charging enough to cover the manufacturing, postage, and packaging. That’s it. If there’s any money left over, it will be donated in full to the charities supported by the event—no exceptions. I’ll be completely transparent with all the costs and donations, and happy to share receipts and updates so you know exactly where everything’s going.

Here’s the basic plan:

  • Step 1: Gauge interest – that’s what this post is for. If you’re interested, please comment below or send me a private message so I can get a rough headcount.
  • Step 2: Once I have an idea of numbers, I’ll get the final quote from the manufacturer.
  • Step 3: I’ll message everyone with the final cost and payment details. Payment would likely be through PayPal, or another trusted method that keeps it simple for all.
  • Step 4: Once payments are in, I’ll place the order.
  • Step 5: As soon as I receive them, I’ll package and ship them out to each of you personally.
  • Final Step: I’ll post the breakdown of funds used and donate any extra money to charity, along with proof of the donation.

Shipping will be worldwide, so no worries if you’re not based in the UK. I’ve already had some people from outside the UK express interest, and I’ll do my best to make sure everyone who wants one can get one, wherever you’re located. Postage costs will vary depending on your location, of course, but I’ll make sure to include that clearly when I send out final pricing info.

The patch itself is approximately 9cm wide, fully embroidered, and made to a high standard. This won’t be a flimsy iron-on that peels off after a few wears. It’s a proper stitched patch you can sew onto a jacket, bag, hat—wherever you want. Or, if you’re more of a collector, it’d also look great in a frame or displayed on a pinboard. The manufacturer I’ve chosen has a solid reputation for quality work, and I made sure we’re going with durable, colourfast thread and a clean finish.

I want to reiterate again: this is a non-profit project. I’m doing this because I wanted one myself, and figured others might as well. I’m not selling merch, I’m not launching a brand, I’m not trying to cash in. I just thought it would be nice for us to have something real to remember the day—and if, in the process, we can raise a few extra pounds for some worthy causes, then even better.

Because this is a one-man operation, I’ll be keeping the order to a manageable size. If we get a huge wave of interest, I might have to cap it—so if you do want one, it’s best to get in touch sooner rather than later. I’ll keep a proper list of names and update everyone along the way with timelines, updates from the manufacturer, when they’re ready to ship, etc. Full transparency the whole way through.

My hope is to get everything wrapped up and ready to ship within 4–6 weeks, depending on the manufacturer’s turnaround and how quickly I can collect payments and finalise numbers.

That’s pretty much it! If you’re interested, just drop a comment or send me a message, and I’ll add your name to the list. I’ll keep you posted with next steps, final prices, and all the other info as soon as I have it.

Thanks again for reading, and for all the support so far. Really looking forward to getting these made and sent out to those who want one. It’s a small thing, but sometimes the small things are the ones that stick with you the longest.

Cheers!

Let me know if you want a shorter version for social media or a follow-up message once the patches are ready
