SAD NEWS: Another Set Back As Auburn Freshman Suffered A Devastating Season-Ending Injury.

Auburn Freshman CB Devin Williams Out for the Season with Torn ACL, Report Says

Auburn cornerback Devin Williams is reportedly facing a season-ending knee injury sustained during spring camp.

The news was first shared by Nathan King of Auburn Undercover on Saturday afternoon. According to the report, this marks the second consecutive spring camp where a young Auburn cornerback has suffered a significant knee injury. Last year, Tyler Scott was sidelined for the entire 2024 season after injuring his knee in spring camp. Unfortunately, Williams is not expected to return in time for the 2025 season. However, Auburn still boasts solid depth at the cornerback position with players such as Kayin Lee, Jay Crawford, Raion Strader, and fellow freshman Blake Woodby. Lee and Crawford, both returning starters, each played over 500 snaps in the 2024 season, according to Pro Football Focus.

Devin Williams, Auburn, Cornerback

Williams was a highly regarded recruit for Auburn in the 2025 class, ranked as the No. 367 player overall and the No. 35 cornerback nationally by 247Sports Composite rankings.

This injury comes as Hugh Freeze enters his critical third season as Auburn’s head coach. Despite a 5-11 SEC record over his first two years, the Tigers are hoping to make significant progress in 2025.
