NEWS NOW : Bills Blindsided by Free Agent Scandal, Major Setback Shakes Offseason Plans

Bills Caught Off Guard by Free Agent Suspension Controversy

Buffalo’s front office had high hopes for its free-agent acquisitions, believing they could help push the team past its playoff struggles. However, the situation has taken an unexpected turn.

General manager Brandon Beane expressed disappointment after two newly signed defensive linemen were handed six-game suspensions for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. While one of the players signed a long-term deal, both were expected to play key roles in improving Buffalo’s defensive front, which ranked 18th in sacks and 19th in rushing yards allowed per attempt last season.

Beane acknowledged the setback, noting that both players have had clean records off the field and emphasizing the importance of being cautious with supplements. Despite the suspensions, they will be allowed to participate in OTAs and training camp but will miss the first six games of the season.

With no appeals expected, Buffalo is now facing criticism for being unprepared for this development, adding an unexpected challenge to their offseason plans.
