Nolan Arenado Makes Final Big Decision Regarding Career with Cardinals
After months of speculation surrounding his future, star third baseman Nolan Arenado has made his final decision: he will remain with the St. Louis Cardinals for the long term, putting to rest any rumors of a possible trade or retirement.
In a press conference at Busch Stadium this afternoon, the 34-year-old Arenado reaffirmed his commitment to the Cardinals, announcing that he has exercised the final player option in his contract, ensuring he stays with St. Louis through at least the 2027 season.
“This city, this team — they mean everything to me,” Arenado told reporters. “I’ve made a lot of tough decisions in my career, but this one was easy. I want to finish what we started and bring another championship to St. Louis.”
Arenado’s decision comes amid a rocky 2025 season for the Cardinals, who have dealt with internal struggles and a crowded National League race.
