New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury announced that the team has reached an agreement with forward Anton Blidh on a two-year, two-way contract extension.
Blidh, 30, has had a standout season with the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, notching 17 goals and 13 assists for 30 points in 66 games — placing him second on the team in goals and third in total points. Both marks are career bests in the AHL for the Molnlycke, Sweden native.
Over his three seasons in Hartford, the 6-foot, 195-pound forward has amassed 58 points (31 goals, 27 assists) across 147 games. Throughout his AHL career — which includes stints with Hartford, Colorado, and Providence — Blidh has registered 83 goals and 75 assists for 158 points in 461 games. At the NHL level, he’s appeared in 85 games with New York, Boston, and Colorado, recording 8 goals and 4 assists for 12 points.
Blidh was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the sixth round (180th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
