Indiana Competing with SEC, ACC for 4-Star Big Man from Grand Canyon

The Indiana Hoosiers are riding a wave of momentum on the recruiting trail as head coach Darian DeVries aggressively seeks out talent to round out his roster for next season. With the phone seemingly glued to his ear, DeVries is working overtime to bring top-tier talent to Bloomington.

So far in the DeVries era, Indiana has secured three commitments: his son Tucker DeVries, Conor Enright from DePaul, and Reed Bailey from Davidson. As DeVries continues shaping his coaching staff—starting with the addition of former IU assistant Kenny Johnson—recruiting efforts have picked up significantly.

One of Indiana’s latest targets is 4-star center transfer Duke Brennan from Grand Canyon. But Indiana isn’t the only school in pursuit—NC State and Ole Miss are also vying for the big man, who has attracted attention after a strong season.

Brennan played a key role in helping Grand Canyon reach the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year and just the fourth time in school history. Before transferring to GCU, Brennan spent a season at Arizona State in the Pac-12, where he averaged 2.4 points and 2.3 rebounds over 36 games. Since transferring, his production has steadily increased—he averaged 7.0 points and 6.7 rebounds in his first year at Grand Canyon, and this past season, he put up 10.4 points and 9.2 boards per game while shooting an impressive 64.6% from the field.

The 6-foot-10 Brennan would be a valuable addition for Indiana, providing a strong inside presence that would complement fellow big man Reed Bailey. His ability to dominate the paint could create more opportunities for Bailey to operate in his preferred spots on the floor.

However, Indiana faces stiff competition from Ole Miss and NC State. DeVries will need to tap into his recruiting savvy to land Brennan, as the Hoosiers aim to solidify their roster with commitments sooner rather than later.
