Cooper Flagg Responds to Draft Rumors Following Duke’s Final Four Exit
After the Duke Blue Devils suffered a heartbreaking 70–67 loss to the Houston Cougars in the Final Four, attention quickly shifted to freshman standout Cooper Flagg. Widely projected as the top pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, fans and analysts alike have been eager to hear his plans for the future.
Flagg didn’t disappoint during his first season at Duke, helping lead the team to a deep tournament run. Still, when asked recently about his intentions regarding the NBA Draft, the star forward made it clear that no final decision has been made.
“I’m just taking some time to reflect,” Flagg said. “It’s been an amazing year. I’ve met so many great people and built relationships that will last a lifetime. Now it’s about stepping back and figuring out what’s best for me. That could take a few days, a week, maybe even a month. I want to talk it over with my family and coaches before making any decision.”
Although Flagg is taking a measured approach, he’s aware of the noise surrounding him — including media speculation about whether he’ll return to Duke or turn pro.
“That’s just part of it,” he said. “The media’s always going to talk — good or bad. I try not to pay attention to any of it. I’m staying grounded, staying true to myself, and just taking things one day at a time.”
Flagg wrapped up his freshman campaign averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 48.1% from the field. With that kind of production, the basketball world is watching closely as he weighs his next move. Whether he declares soon or waits it out, all eyes will stay on Flagg until a decision is made.
