JUST IN: Braves Release 3 Players To Confirm A Blockbuster Deal With The Dodgers.

This week, I outlined a hypothetical trade between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves designed to help Atlanta recover from their rough start to the season. The proposed deal would send outfielder James Outman and right-hander Bobby Miller—two former top prospects who’ve struggled to secure regular playing time in L.A.—to the Braves. In return, the Dodgers would receive a promising package of young talent: RHP Owen Murphy, RHP Garrett Baumann, and SS Jose Perdomo.

While the trade carries some risk for Atlanta, it also presents a chance to immediately boost their roster with two potentially impactful players. Miller, buried in the Dodgers’ deep pitching staff, and Outman, stuck behind an overcrowded outfield, could both thrive with more opportunity in Atlanta.

On the flip side, the Dodgers would gain a trio of talented prospects. Murphy and Baumann are highly regarded young arms who could develop into top-of-the-rotation starters, while Perdomo is a raw but toolsy infielder with a high ceiling. This deal makes sense for L.A. if they’re confident in their current MLB roster and want to restock their farm system with upside talent.
