Former Auburn Quarterback TJ Finley’s College Journey Takes Another Chaotic Turn
According to multiple reports, former Auburn quarterback TJ Finley has once again entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. If he joins another team, it would mark the sixth stop of his college football career.
Finley spent two seasons at Auburn under former head coach Bryan Harsin after transferring from LSU, where he played his freshman year. During his first season at Auburn, he served as Bo Nix’s backup and later battled Robby Ashford for the starting quarterback role. Despite some flashes of promise, Finley struggled to secure the QB1 spot during his time on the Plains.
Following Harsin’s dismissal in 2022, Finley entered the portal and transferred to Texas State, where he enjoyed his most productive season, throwing for 3,439 yards and 24 touchdowns.
Afterward, he moved to Western Kentucky and earned the starting quarterback position for the Hilltoppers. However, his time there was cut short by an ankle injury after just three games. He later transferred to Tulane ahead of spring practices.
Finley’s latest transfer portal entry follows an indefinite suspension from Tulane after he was arrested in connection with a stolen vehicle and charged with illegal possession of stolen goods valued over $25,000.
