Mike Trout Sparks Trade Rumors After Praising St. Louis and the Cardinals
Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout has experienced nearly everything in his 15-year MLB career. A three-time MVP, 11-time All-Star, and future Hall of Famer, he has spent his entire career in the American League West. However, he rarely has the opportunity to play in St. Louis against the Cardinals—a trip he seems to enjoy whenever it appears on the schedule.
Busch Stadium, known for its rich baseball atmosphere, consistently ranks among the best ballparks in Major League Baseball. Opened in April 2006, the stadium seats 44,383 fans, while the city of St. Louis itself is often praised for its affordability, strong economy, and central location.
In a recent interview with Joey Schneider of FOX2Now, Trout expressed his admiration for St. Louis.
“I love coming here. I love playing here. Obviously, when Albert [Pujols] was here, he talked up so much about it. When I saw the schedule come out and saw that St. Louis was on it, I circled it. I always love coming here.”
Trout was referring to his former Angels teammate Albert Pujols, who spent his first 11 seasons with the Cardinals before signing a massive 10-year, $255 million contract to join the Angels. Pujols remains a legend in St. Louis, and his influence may have contributed to Trout’s fondness for the city.
Trout’s comments quickly fueled speculation among fans, leading to trade rumors.
“He’s a Cardinal,” one fan wrote.
“Mike Trout Cardinal confirmed,” said another.
“Time to fleece the Angels again,” joked a fan.
“He wants out of Anaheim for sure,” another replied.
“Future Cardinal,” added one more.
While there is no official indication that Trout is seeking a move to St. Louis, his praise for the city and ballpark has sparked excitement among Cardinals fans, who would undoubtedly welcome a player of his caliber. Whether this admiration translates into trade talks remains to be seen, but the speculation is alive and well.
