Without a doubt, the NFL wants to see the “tush push” eliminated, and it’s actively investigating ways to make that happen.
Jon Runyan, a guard for the Green packers believes the league has not only figured out how to deal with the modified quarterback sneak, but has also started the process of phase it out. It’s just that no one else appears to be noticing.

Runyan appears to think that in order to discourage teams from using the “tush push,” referees are encouraged to raise their flags when teams execute it. His hypothesis might also not be wholly absurd.
In Green Bay’s 20-3 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Runyan was flagged twice. The Packers executed the “tush push” both times it was fourth-and-1, and both times the penalty ruled out a first down.

The Eagles are the best team at running the play, with an 84% success rate, even though it isn’t a play that is unique to them. The NFL asserts that the reason it has a problem with the “tush push” is that the play’s rugby-like characteristics increase the likelihood of an injury.

Vaitai’s contract was cut by a year by the team in the wake of his 2022 suspension, and Jackson is now in a contract year. Going forward, the Lions have a few questions at guard.
