Gus Edwards is leaving to play for the other Harbaugh in Los Angeles, and Patrick Queen is heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but they both left with dignity.
On the day they formally left Baltimore in free agency, the two former Ravens shared sentimental posts about their time there.
Queen remarked, among other things, “My heart swells with gratitude as I think back on my time with the Ravens.” Baltimore, you welcomed me with open arms right away, and you had amazing enthusiasm at every game. Our shared memories will always have a particular place in my heart.”
“While my journey has led me elsewhere, thank you for supporting me over the past four years,” Queen added, omitting to specifically mention the Steelers.
DeCosta had a choice between veteran receivers and he opted to bring Agholor back. The 30-year-old can still stretch the field, but he became a valuable inside receiver in coordinator Todd Monken’s offense.
Putting Agholor in the slot for “59% of his snaps” meant Monken could use Flowers “outside and get him into more space,” according to Ravens.com Editorial Director Ryan Mink, citing Next Gen Stats.
First-round selection in 2020, Queen was a youthful rookie to the league but quickly matured into a powerful all-around linebacker who excelled in his fourth season, winning a trip to the Pro Bowl. He will now face the Ravens twice a year.
In 2018, Edwards joined Lamar Jackson as a rookie and helped lead the Ravens into the postseason after joining the team as an undrafted free agent.
Edwards wrote, “What a time we had together!” as he left for the West to rejoin former offensive coordinator Greg Roman of the Ravens.
“By selecting an undrafted rookie, the Baltimore Ravens organisation took a chance. This city welcomed me right away and helped me throughout the journey.” As Edwards put it.
