MARINERS SHOCKER: Mariners’ Fan-Favorite Star Lands Stunning $55M Contract, Sets Off Frenzy!!!

The Seattle Mariners boast one of the most talented pitching rotations in baseball, and that depth could soon lead to new contract extensions—particularly for Bryan Woo and Logan Gilbert.

In a recent piece for MLB Trade Rumors, AJ Eustace analyzed what a potential extension for Woo might look like. To estimate his value, Eustace compared him to pitchers like Tanner Bibee of Cleveland and Christian Javier of Houston.

Based on those comparisons, Eustace projects that Woo could land a four-year deal worth around $55 million.

Eustace noted that Bibee signed a four-year, $47.2 million extension in March 2025 after posting 6.3 fWAR across 56 starts between 2023 and 2024. Since Woo is a full-time starter, his situation aligns more closely with Bibee than with Javier. While Bibee had two years of service time at the time of his deal, Woo is closer to three. Performance-wise, the two are fairly similar—Woo has slightly better rate stats, while Bibee has logged more innings. Taking all of that into account, Eustace believes Woo could command about $55 million over four years, averaging $13.75 million annually.

Eustace also explored what a new deal for Logan Gilbert might look like, comparing him to pitchers such as Pablo López, Mitch Keller, and Garrett Crochet. From that analysis, he suggests Gilbert could secure a contract worth up to $90 million over four years.

The Mariners will have important decisions ahead, but it’s a positive situation to be in. Their strong track record of developing pitching talent is now paying off at the major league level.
