One of the most talented position players on the Georgia Bulldogs, wide receiver Ladd McConkey, has been sidelined by an ankle injury. The Bulldogs have struggled with injuries all season long, as evidenced by the few games they missed without tight end Brock Bowers. For the passing game, Ladd McConkey’s injury is crucial, though.McConkey has two touchdown receptions this season on 26 grabs for 418 yards (16.1 yards per catch), in addition to one 11-yard rush attempt.
One of the most important questions going into the Week 13 game on Saturday against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets was Ladd McConkey’s availability. Kirby Smart, the coach at Georgia, gave an update. He declared:
He injured his ankle against the Ole Miss Rebels in Week 11, and the Georgia Bulldogs were sadly unable to get him back on the pitch. He attempted to play against the Tennessee Volunteers in Week 12, but he was limited to a few snaps before suffering an ankle injury that forced him to leave the game. He’s not yet recovered.
The Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide square off in the SEC Championship Game this Saturday. It will enhance the Bulldogs’ prospects of winning another SEC Championship and the top ranking in the country going into the College Football Playoffs if McConkey is well enough to play in this game.
Even though he is a phenomenal wide receiver, this season’s receiving yards and receptions rank fourth in the programme. Domanta Lovett and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, two wide receivers, will have better seasons and more opportunities to show off their abilities.Due to their increased position in the offence, wide receivers Dillon Bell and Rara Thomas of the Bulldogs will also be performing at a greater level. Carson Beck, the quarterback, benefits from this as well because it elevates him.
College football commentator Josh Pate voiced his thoughts following Johnny Manziel’s protest against the NCAA over the Reggie Bush Heisman Trophy trip. He fully supports the action that the former Texas A&M quarterback intends to take.According to the commentator on a recent edition of “Late Night with Josh Pate,” Manziel will be joined in protest by a few other past Heisman Trophy winners. Thus, he urged the Heisman Trust to take immediate action rather than waiting for the NCAA to make a decision.
