IRVING, Texas – East Carolina women’s basketball senior Kennedy Fauntleroy has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
The Upper Marlboro, Maryland native delivered a dominant week, averaging 24.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.0 block across two Pirate victories.
Fauntleroy opened the week with an impressive all-around performance against Tulsa, recording 21 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in a 79–48 blowout—the program’s largest conference win in 11 years. She became the first ECU player to post at least 20 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in a game since Jasmine Young accomplished the feat on Jan. 10, 2008.
She followed that effort with a standout showing against Temple, pouring in 27 points and dishing out eight assists in an 81–65 win. Fauntleroy took over in the fourth quarter, scoring 13 points and accounting for nine of ECU’s final 12 points, either by scoring or assisting. The victory marked the Pirates’ ninth win in their last 10 games and moved the team to 5–1 in conference play for only the fourth time in program history.

Her 15 assists over the week raised her total to 33 across the last five games, the highest stretch for an ECU player since Ashley Clarke recorded 35 assists between Feb. 13 and March 3, 2010.
Fauntleroy becomes the second Pirate to earn AAC Player of the Week honors this season, joining Keanna Rembert, who received the award on Jan. 5. Prior to this recognition, Fauntleroy had twice been named an Honorable Mention.
