Years before he became the head coach of the Boston Celtics, Wyc Grousbeck recalled how Joe Mazzulla impressed him during their first opportunity to spend meaningful time together.

Wyc Grousbeck, the owner of the Boston Celtics, stated on WCVB Boston News that he had told head coach Joe Mazzulla and president of basketball operations Brad Stevens that change was needed since he was fed up with his team’s inconsistent postseason performance.

He also recalled his first chance to spend serious time with Mazzulla, who instantly won him over, during a lengthy stay in Milwaukee during a playoff series against the Bucks a few years ago.

Grousbeck remarked, “I just thought he was really intriguing; like a guy I would follow.” “That’s how I kind of consider what I would do if I were on this team when I make these recommendations or decisions. Would I choose to follow this individual? Would I be able to respect them?”

He also explained why Mazzulla makes people feel that way, saying, “It’s content, not just charisma. Additionally, it’s real.
