Poland’s first ECAI, scheduled for Kraków in 2023, will take place there
Nearly two thousand abstracts from fifty-eight countries on six continents have applied for the conference, which is chaired by Professor Ann Nowe of Vrije Universiteit Brussels. This year’s Programme Committee, led by Professor (University of Edinburgh and Ben Gurion University), includes more than 2,600 scientists from around the globe. More than a thousand participants from all over the world are anticipated by the organisers. Numerous smaller events will be held during the conference. Thirty workshop and tutorial sessions will be held at the Jagiellonian University Campus (in the Faculty of Physics) between September 30 and October 1st.and the buildings of the Faculty of Mathematics. Sessions for aspiring PhD candidates and young scientists will run concurrently with these.
The conference’s main session is scheduled to begin in the evening on October 1 and run from October 2 to October 4. The event will take place in the cutting-edge ICE Convention Centre in Krakow, which has a view of Wawel Hill. Under the direction of Professor Grzegorz J. Nalepa, the PSSI Chair at the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy, and Applied Computer Science at Jagiellonian University, the ECAI 2023
Vice-Dean Paweł Węgrzyn from the Jagiellonian University’s Faculty of Physics, Astronomy, and Applied Computer Science; Professor Adam Roman from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Jagiellonian University; and Krzysztof Kutt, PhD from PSSI, the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy, and Applied Computer Science, will be on the organisational committee.
The programme will include five lectures in addition to the presentations of conference papers. The industrial session, which is being organised in collaboration with the Kraków Technology Park, is set to be one of the conference’s highlights. Eleven rapidly growing AI-driven companies that are event sponsors will showcase their solutions and participate in panel discussions.
There is strong organisational support for ECAI 2023 from the Jagiellonian University and the President of Kraków. The AGH University and the Kraków Technology Park are also co-organizers. Poland’s top universities and organisations, such as the Academy of Arts and Sciences (AU), the Polish Academy of Sciences Committee on Informatics, the Poznań University of Technology, the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, and many more, are supporting the event academically.
Jagiellonian University pro-vice-chancellors will be present at the opening session.
