The Pittsburgh Steelers will have a busy offseason as they must decide whether to extend Diontae Johnson. Furthermore, it seems unlikely that Johnson will receive his, if stories are to be believed.
That was what Mark Madden stated about Diontae Johnson’s uncertain future in Pittsburgh on his February 19 Breakfast with Benz podcast broadcast.
Madden remarked, “I’ve heard that Diontae Johnson’s future is uncertain.” “There are rumours that he intends to hold a hold-in once more, similar to what happened two years ago, since he is nearing the end of his contract and wants to push Pickett for the quarterback position.”
“I don’t like Diontae.” They pay them way too much, and in my opinion, he is mediocre. However, if you plan to fire him for not being a Pickett fan? Come on, I mean, he continued.
In 13 regular-season games during the 2023 NFL season, Diontae Johnson managed to record 51 receptions for 717 receiving yards and five touchdowns. More than anything, though, the Toledo product was well-known for garnering negative press.
Johnson blamed the NFL referees for the team’s setback in their Week 8 20-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, stating they “should get fined.”
When Johnson and Minkah Fitzpatrick got into a heated argument in the locker room during Week 11, Johnson found himself in trouble. Subsequently, a week later, the supporters pelted the 27-year-old wideout with abuse when he made a fumble against the Cincinnati Bengals and appeared to be out of effort.
