With 10 players who will expire contracts in 2024, Birmingham City will be involved in another hectic summer of transfer activity.

Six months from now, contracts for first team regulars John Ruddy, Kevin Long, Ivan Sunjic, Keshi Anderson, and Scott Hogan will expire. The contracts of seasoned players Lukas Jutkiewicz, Marc Roberts, Gary Gardner, and Neil Etheridge expire in July.

In January, Tony Mowbray brought on three new players: Alex Pritchard, Paik Seung-ho, and Andre Dozzell (loan). In the summer, a more extensive rebuild is anticipated, which will be partially financed by contracts that expire.

Seven of those who won’t have contracts expiring in the summer are over thirty. Blues intend to dismiss several of the players listed above, even if some, like Keshi Anderson, who signed with the team on a free transfer in July, have options to extend.

James garnered significant attention during the January transfer window, and the Blues anticipate new offers in the summer. BirminghamLive is aware that there is a possibility for an extension in Koji Miyoshi’s contract.

The right-back for Birmingham City has been sidelined for seven weeks with a hip injury. Earlier in the season, a hamstring problem caused him to miss several games. Since coming to Blues from Manchester United in the summer, Laird has only appeared in eight games.

In Laird’s absence, Cody Drameh has established himself as the starting right back, making 19 appearances in all competitions. But Tony Mowbray, the next Blues manager, might soon have an abundance of options.

“Ethan was with the ball today at the training ground,” Mowbray remarked. “He wasn’t part of the group, but he was kicking the ball.” It appears to me that he is wrapping up his recovery, making an effort
