Many people believed that the Cleveland Browns’ chances of making the playoffs were lost when quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered a season-ending injury in Week 10 of the previous campaign. Joe Flacco entered the game and preserved the team’s season after the team’s 7-5 loss. It sparked concerns about Cleveland’s 2024 quarterback strategy.
In a comparable sample size, Flacco outperformed Watson by most measures. Watson ranked 28th in EPA per play (-0.021) and had a grade of 67.3 from Pro Football Focus.
