Josh Allen receives numerous invitations, one of which is to 10-year-old Sophie Rittling’s birthday celebration. The elite quarterback planned to give her a unique surprise when he realised he had missed it.

Since she was a newborn, Rittling has fought epilepsy, which makes every day difficult. Sophie’s 12-year-old elder sister, Emma, has always been there for her, even going so far as to write a letter tofulfil Sophie’s wish to meet Josh Allen.

I had to try even though I know you’re too busy to go to every party you’re invited to. Emma Rittling wrote, “Sophie means the world to me and I would do anything for her.”

The two-page letter gave Allen an explanation of Sophie’s background and an invitation to her birthday celebration, which was aptly themed after Josh Allen.

“I believe that Emma was trying to convey that, although she has a really cool sister, she also faces challenges.” The mother of Sophie and Emma, Lauren Rittling, told News 4 that she believes Emma did that as a means of letting Sophie know that she desired something for herself.

After developing a fever at the age of ten months, Sophie’s fight with epilepsy started. She was occasionally transported to the hospital several times in a short period of time, and she spent several nights there.

She is still a champion, just like her favourite Bills player, despite this. Sophie has been Josh Allen’s biggest fan ever since he was drafted. She frequently watches him play from her living room, encouraging him and hoping he will somehow pass the ball to her.

Sophie said, “He’s my friend,” in response to the question of why he is her favourite player.

After reading Emma’s letter, Allen decided to make up for missing the birthday celebration by giving the Rittling family a unique tour and unexpected meet & greet at Highmark Stadium.

We knew the moment we walked in and heard his voice. Lauren remarked, “Sophie just approached him like, of course, I’m meeting my best friend.”

“I doubt that I was ready for it at all. The father of Emma and Sophie, Richard Rittling, remarked, “I was shocked when I walked in.”

Emma claimed she collapsed to the ground and began sobbing, while Sophie claimed she approached him and gave him a strong hug.

“I thought it was wonderful because I don’t look at her differently, but occasionally kids look at her differently. Emma remarked, “I see her as a typical 10-year-old little girl.”
