American twin brothers Justin and Jayson Ademilola agreed to two-year contracts with the CFL team. The Ademilola brothers played collegiate football at Notre Dame in addition to becoming defensive lineman.

Six-foot-one, 248-pound defensive end Justin Ademilola finished his final two seasons at Notre Dame with 8.5 sacks, 74 tackles (9.5 for loss), three fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble. The Green Bay Packers invited him to a minicamp the previous year.

Six-foot-three, 290-pound defensive tackle Jayson Ademilola played in 52 games for Notre Dame, amassing 135 tackles (63 solo). The Houston Roughnecks of the XFL drafted him after he played for a spell with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the previous season.

On Monday, the seasoned Canadian kicker joined the Toronto Argonauts. While Canadian receiver Dejon Brissette was eligible to become a free agency on February 13, the Argos also re-signed him to an extension of his contract.

Hajrullahu, 33, played for the Los Angeles Rams, Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders, and Dallas Cowboys during his three seasons (2020–22) in the National Football League. In his four regular-season NFL appearances, he converted all eight of his attempts at field goals.

Hajrullahu, who last played with the Argos in 2016–17, will be joining Toronto for the second time. The five-foot-11, 215-pound kicker played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2014–15 and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2018–19 before starting his CFL career with them.

Over the course of his CFL career, Hajrullahu has made 239 of 287 field goal attempts (83.3%) and 135 of 144 conversions (93.8%). He has also played in 72 regular-season games and has a 44-yard punting average.

He is sixth all-time in field goal % and has made the second-most 50-yard field goals in a CFL season (seven in 2018).

In 18 regular-season games in 2023, Brissett, 27, of Mississauga, Ontario, made career highs with 38 receptions, 594 receiving yards, and five touchdowns. He also had 11 tackles for special teams.

In the 2020 CL draft, Toronto selected the six-foot-one, 195-pound Brissett second overall in the first round.

The veteran American kicker Boris Bede, who was expected to become a free agent on February 13, has been released, according to the Argos.

While releasing Canadian Behar, the Redblacks re-sign stalwarts Hardy and Webb.

OTTAWA On Monday, the Ottawa Redblacks re-signed defensive back Damon Webb and receiver Justin Hardy to one-year contracts.

On February 13, both American players were qualified to become free agents in the CFL. Also released by the Redblacks was Canadian receiver Nate Behar.

 

In his second season with Ottawa, Hardy has 85 receptions for 1,009 yards and three touchdowns in 2017. The five-foot-10, 192-pound receiver saw seven Redblacks regular-season games in 2022, totaling 44 grabs for 416 yards.

Hardy played for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons for five seasons (2015–19) before joining the Redblacks. In 73 games over his career, he caught 95 passes for 946 yards and nine touchdowns.

In 16 regular-season games in 2023, Webb recorded 64 tackles, a sack, and three interceptions. The five-foot-11, 195-pound native of Detroit, who began his career in Canada with the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2021–22), is entering his second season with Ottawa and his fourth in the CFL.

In his 37 regular-season CFL appearances, Webb has accumulated 133 tackles, one sack, and five interceptions.

Behar, a native of London, Ontario, played for the Redblacks for the previous four seasons. In 12 games during the regular season in 2023, he caught 39 passes for 334 yards and a score.

In the 2017 CFL draft, Edmonton selected Behar in the first round, No. 5 overall, and he played for the Elks for two seasons.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats re-signed international punter Vedvik and Canadian kicker Liegghio.

Hamilton On Monday, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats extended the contracts of Norwegian punter Kaare Vedvik and Canadian kicker Marc Liegghio.

Next week, each player will be free to sign with other teams.

In his first season with Hamilton, Liegghio, 26, made 41 of 47 field goals (87.2%) and 27 of 32 conversions (84.4%). The former Western Mustang made 78 of his 94 career field goals in the CFL (83%) with a long of 55 yards. He started his CFL career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2021–2022).

The Saskatchewan Roughriders traded for Vedvik, 29, who signed with the Ticats in August 2023. The Stavanger, Norway, native, who is six feet three and weighs 210 pounds, punted fifty times, averaging 44.2 yards with a long of 62 yards.
