Due to an injury, Keenan Pili is anticipated to miss “multiple weeks.”
Yesterday, Tennessee Athletics announced that BYU transfer linebacker Keenan Pili, who sustained an injury in the season’s first game against Virginia, will miss several weeks of action in 2023.
At 6’3 and 237 pounds, Pili is a huge asset to the Tennessee Football defence. He finished the previous season with 62 total tackles, 29 of which were solo, four tackles for a loss, a sack, a pass deflection, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. In 2020, he was All-Independent, and in 2021, he was recovering from an ACL injury.
Josh Heupel, the coach of Tennessee, verified the following on the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday:
Heupel stated during the teleconference, “We weren’t sure the seriousness of the injuries earlier in the week. “This week, he won’t be accessible. He won’t be here for a few weeks.”
Heupel revealed that although Keenan will be out for some weeks, he thinks Pili will make a comeback this season:
“I don’t think the season is over,” Heupel remarked. “In the upcoming days and week, we’ll observe how he continues to recuperate up here.

Cooper Mays:
Cooper Mays, the starting centre for Tennessee Football, will not play against Austin Peay on Saturday in order to “make sure that he is 100%” for the game against Florida the following weekend, according to Josh Heupel. Heupel said that Mays had been on the pitch with them.
