In a heartbreaking matchup with the Michigan Wolverines, the Ohio State Buckeyes lose.

Ohio State was ahead 16–14 with a few seconds remaining in the game when Buckeyes running back Chip Trayanum raced into the Fighting Irish end zone on a third-and-goal.

A 16–14 victory would have given Notre Dame the cover, but the touchdown came just when it appeared like time was running out.

The Fighting Irish were, according to most bookies, three points underdogs going into the game.

Your terrible beat for the week—and maybe the year—is right here.

The thrilling Ohio State-Notre Dame game on Saturday was entertaining not only for casual viewers but also for those who were betting.

But that was not how the officials saw it.

The officials extended the play clock by one second, allowing Ohio State to attempt an extra point to take a three-point lead and cover the spread.

In a moment that meant little in the game but everything to the gamblers, Ohio State kicker Jayden Fielding easily scored.

Instead, what could have been a cover for Notre Dame became a push.

To make matters more complicated, Notre Dame’s final play featured just ten players on the pitch.

Although the game was one of several difficult finishes for bettors this football season, bettors were undoubtedly upset.

The Rams’ head coach, Sean McVay, decided to kick a game-winning field goal in Week 2 of the NFL season to give his team seven points and cover the 7.5-point spread against the San Francisco 49ers.

Although it didn’t change the outcome, the 49ers supporters were incensed by that field goal.

One of the most important games of the early college football season was the one on Saturday.

The Fighting Irish were ranked No. 9 going into the game, while the Buckeyes were ranked No. 6.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have lost to the Michigan Wolverines in “The Game” for the third consecutive season.

If they triumph, they’ll move on to the Big Ten Championship Game and potentially the College Football Playoffs. If they lost, they would have to accept their destiny and hope that the committee would still rank them in the top four.

Unfortunately for the Buckeyes, it has turned into the latter, as Ohio State lost to Michigan 30–24 in the Big House in a game that will go down as one of the most contentious in series history.

Surprisingly, Michigan marched down the field on a last-minute drive that decided the game, and Ohio State’s defence let them down when it mattered most.

The Wolverines led 30-24 after that drive, which spanned 12 plays, 56 yards, and seven minutes. Of those nine rushes, eight were scored by Blake Corum. The drive culminated in a game-winning field goal.

Notwithstanding all of that, quarterback Kyle McCord gave the Buckeyes offence a chance to win the game with a last-minute drive by putting the team in scoring position. On the team’s last drive of the game, McCord would, however, wind up throwing an interception that sealed Michigan’s victory.

McCord’s interception was his second of the game and his sixth of the season.

The Buckeyes will now have to watch the Wolverines proceed to the Big Ten Championship game and, most likely, the College Football Playoffs after the defeat.

While they wait for their bowl destiny, which, considering their record, is probably going to be a spot in the New Year’s Six.
