During the summer transfer window, Nottingham Forest expressed interest in signing Michele Di Gregorio, a custodian for Monza. The stopper almost left the Serie A team, according to the agency for the player.

In the summer, Forest put in a lot of effort to increase their goalkeeping staff by two. The Reds were shorthanded as Dean Henderson and Keylor Navas both returned to their own teams.

In the end, Forest was successful in securing two foreign stoppers on long-term contracts. Odysseas Vlachodimos joined from Benfica on the final day of the transfer window, and Matt Turner arrived from Arsenal.
