Bills Projected to Target Ohio State WR with More Upside Than Current Roster
The Buffalo Bills are looking to take the next step toward a Super Bowl run, and they’ve made several moves this offseason to bolster their roster. One of their biggest moves was securing star quarterback Josh Allen with a $330 million contract extension, ensuring he remains the face of the franchise for years to come.
Buffalo also made key additions in free agency, including signing former Chargers wide receiver Josh Palmer to a three-year, $36 million deal. Additionally, they extended wideout Khalil Shakir, strengthening the receiving corps despite the departure of Amari Cooper.
With the No. 30 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Bills have several directions they could go, but ESPN’s Mike Tannenbaum believes Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka is the perfect choice.
“In my opinion, Egbuka has more ability than any of Buffalo’s current receivers, including Khalil Shakir, 2024 second-round pick Keon Coleman, and newcomer Joshua Palmer,” Tannenbaum wrote. “He’s a polished route runner with excellent hands and reminds me of a young Amari Cooper. He would make an immediate impact.”
Egbuka, despite sharing the spotlight with Marvin Harrison Jr. in 2023 and Jeremiah Smith in 2024, has put up impressive numbers. He finished the 2024 season with 743 yards and nine touchdowns on 60 receptions, following a breakout 1,039-yard, nine-touchdown campaign in 2022.
The Bills have taken steps to improve their receiver depth, but adding a true No. 1 option like Egbuka could be a game-changer for Josh Allen. While Buffalo has other pressing needs, this move seems like a logical and impactful choice.
