Latest day News:The rock group known as the Boston Celtics

The rock group known as the Boston Celtics.

Joe Tiddy’s comparison between Jaylen Brown and Derrick White caught my attention while I was listening to the First to the Floor podcast. This was the general flow of it. Being a lead guitarist with a powerful wail is just one of Brown’s many incredible skills on the court. Still, he’s not as consistent as Derrick White when it comes to playing standard rhythm guitar material.

Naturally, I’m going to take this motif and run with it, taking it a step further than it should (probably five steps too far). The Boston Celtics this season definitely have a rock feel to them.

This one ought to be clear. The guy on the back cover who takes up the most space in the image is now the face of the franchise. He’s the band member that your mother has heard of. He can do a little bit of everything, including picking up the guitar when the situation calls for it. Even though his lyrics are rather conventional, his voice really makes the band (note: this is a reference to his mostly canned interview answers).

Who sets the mood and vibes for the song at the beginning? The guitarist in the lead. Who enters at the song’s climax to rock the house with an incredible solo? He is that. Who gives the song that unique flare that makes it stand out? You guessed it. He’s always willing to take things further.

The man who plays a crucial role in the performance but doesn’t receive as much recognition or attention is now on the opposite side of the stage. He gives the songs structure and color while maintaining the beat. He makes everything better around him, builds a bridge from the verses to the chorus and back.

The foundation of the group is the backbeat. He establishes the group’s overall energy, tone, and pace. With the right song, you might even forget he’s there—but you would miss him if he wasn’t—because he is so dependable and steady. He can be so wildly unpredictable and surprising at the same time that you never know what to expect from him.

In addition to driving the beat and tying it into the rhythm, the bassist also sets the tone. Once more, you might not always notice him right away, but the songs wouldn’t have any purpose without him. Although he is dependable and steady, he can also be imaginative and downright funky.
