The Celtic attacker acknowledges that he was defeated by nerves in a recent game.

Hyunjun Yang, a Celtic forward, recently discussed his first few months in Scotland.
The winger, age 21, transferred from Gangwon of South Korea to us in late July. Since then, he has contributed more than many could have anticipated, appearing in most of our games under Brendan Rodgers.

On the left wing, Yang has started quite a few games, including our most recent UEFA Champions League defeat to Lazio.

He also discussed some of the difficulties he has encountered making the transfer, both on and off the field, and believes that he didn’t perform at his best that evening owing to anxiety.

He told Celtic TV, “I don’t think there’s any [much] difficulty getting used to living in Scotland.

But if I had to choose only one, I’d say the language. When I try to communicate with other team members, there is a language barrier because I don’t speak English well. Other than that, I’m in good health.

Scottish teams move from offense to defense and back again far more quickly than Korean ones do. Additionally, the defense is much more forceful here.

To play in the Champions League was such an honor. Being that it was such a big game, I was a little apprehensive, so it was unfortunate that I couldn’t perform to the best of my abilities.

From a guy so young, that reflection seems to be quite honest. Given that it was his first start against one of Europe’s top teams, Yang confesses that he was a little intimidated by the Lazio match. He identified his limited command of the English language as another obstacle. Even while it seems rather simple, it is something that would undoubtedly hinder success in a foreign country. It sort of demonstrates how successful people like Reo Hatate and kyogo Furuhashi have been.

These remarks on language and his admission of nervousness serve as a welcome reminder to everyone that these soldiers are also people. Even if we all want Yang to be a superstar right away, the truth is that it will take him some time to adapt to his new environment, both inside and outside of football.

In the upcoming months, his playing time can be a little lessened due to Luis Palma’s ascent. As he gets used to his new life, that might not be a terrible thing in the long run. Big things are still on the horizon, but perhaps not at this time.
