Before Sunday’s game against the Chiefs, the Packers activate safety legend from injured reserve.
Green Bay, Wisconsin (AP) — Darnell Savage of the Green Bay Packers has been activated from injured reserve, paving the way for his possible return from a five-game absence against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.
Savage has been out with a calf injury since an Oct. 22 loss at Denver, but he practiced fully this week and was listed as questionable on the injury report on Friday.
His return would help a Green Bay secondary that has been hampered by injuries.
Safety Due to biceps and groin injuries, Rudy Ford has missed the Packers’ last two games and is questionable for Sunday night. Cornerback Jaire Alexander has missed three straight games due to a shoulder injury and is questionable for Sunday as well.
Cornerback Eric Stokes has missed five straight games with a hamstring issue and remains on injured reserve, though he was a limited practice participant this week.
The Packers (5-6) also announced Saturday that they have elevated fullback Henry Pearson and running back James Robinson from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s game with the AFC West-leading Chiefs (8-3).
