The health of Raiders star Maxx Crosby for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs is in doubt.
On Sunday, the Las Vegas Raiders will try to upset the Kansas City Chiefs at home. They may have to play without star defensive end Maxx Crosby, who is expected to miss practice for the second day in a row due to a knee injury, according to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
It should be noted that Las Vegas did not practice on Thanksgiving, but Crosby is said to have refused to participate on Thursday.
The Raiders were defeated by the Miami Dolphins 20-13 in Week 11. With a current record of 5-6, Las Vegas is attempting to stay in the playoff picture. Finding a way to win on Sunday would go a long way toward sneaking into the postseason, both in terms of standings and momentum.
The Raiders will struggle to win if Crosby does not play on Sunday. He’s a fantastic player who helps Las Vegas’ defense.
Crosby, 26, is in his fifth year in the NHL. He’s been tough throughout his NFL career, but this injury concern is something to keep an eye on.
Crosby is a two-time Pro Bowler who has emerged as one of the league’s best all-around defenders. He has at least seven sacks in each of his professional seasons, and has at least ten sacks in three of them. Crosby set a career high in sacks in 2022, with 12.5 sacks.
So far in 2023, Maxx Crosby already has 10.5 sacks. He will have a chance to set a new career-high if this injury does not keep him out for a significant amount of time.
Crosby’s long-term health is extremely important. He won’t play this Sunday against Kansas City unless the Raiders believe he won’t aggravate his current injury.
The Raiders’ road ahead will not be easy. Las Vegas will host the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Chargers following their Week 12 game against the Chiefs. The Raiders will then travel to Kansas City on Christmas Day to face the Chiefs.
We will continue to monitor Maxx Crosby and the Raiders and provide updates.
