Earlier this month, Roc Bellantoni was officially appointed as the outside linebackers coach for Auburn football, stepping into a program undergoing significant staffing changes due to multiple coaches departing for other opportunities.
Bellantoni, who previously served under Bryan Harsin’s staff at Auburn, spent the past two seasons as the defensive coordinator at Florida Atlantic. Upon his return to the Plains, he quickly jumped into recruiting efforts, immediately reaching out to 4-star linebacker Jordan Campbell.
Campbell, a standout from Opa Locka, Florida, is ranked as the No. 4 linebacker in the 2026 recruiting class and is the No. 10 overall prospect from Florida. Although he committed to Miami in November 2023, he remains open to exploring other options.
On Friday, Campbell made his second visit to Auburn ahead of scheduled trips to Alabama and Georgia.
“When [Bellantoni] first got the job, we talked about me visiting and about my film,” Campbell shared with Auburn Rivals. “That meant a lot to me. It shows how much interest they have and how much they believe in me as a player and as a person.”
During his visit, Campbell toured Auburn’s facilities, but what stood out most to him was learning about the defensive system he’d be part of if he joined the program.
“My favorite part today was them showing us how they can transform our bodies in just a year and explaining their scheme and defenses,” Campbell said. “They run a 3-4, and I’m comfortable playing in that. I’ve also played in a 3-3-5, and they’re a 4-2 team. They’re really a multiple defense, which I’m used to.”
Auburn football is hosting a significant Junior Day recruiting event next weekend, and Campbell hinted that a third visit to the Plains could be on the horizon.
