The Beaufort Hunt posted this on Instagram in remembrance of its former master.
“Sending our love and sympathies to our own Captain Ian Farquhar’s family and friends is heartbreaking,” the hunt stated. Having him fly us for thirty-four years was a delight. This week, he passed away quietly.
Many hunting enthusiasts adored and held him in high regard as “Captain.” He was amiable, supportive, and always willing to share innovative, brilliant ideas with everyone who asked.
“Anyone fortunate enough to be with him and hear about his exciting and unique life in the army and as a hunter will always remember those days. He was quite entertaining.”
Captain loved his family, dogs, and hounds. We know that up there, a whole pack of dogs will be waiting for him, eager to see him again.
