Warriors Sign Two-Way Contract with Summer League Standout
For up-and-coming athletes, the NBA Summer League provides a fantastic venue to demonstrate their skills to clubs, scouts, and supporters. Daeqwon Plowden is benefiting from having taken advantage of this opportunity.
Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Plowden has agreed to a two-way deal with the Golden State Warriors. His remarkable Summer League stats include an average of 16.6 points, with 54% of his shots coming from the field and 48% from beyond the arc.
With a brilliant effort on Sunday night—scoring 19 points on 8 of 12 field goals and 3 of 4 from three-point range for the Warriors—Plowden most certainly sealed his deal.
The 6’6″ player has played for the affiliate clubs of New Orleans and Orlando in the G League for the past two years, where he has made a name for himself as a dependable shooter. He has now earned a berth on the Warriors roster.
Plowden has a two-way contract that could see him play in the G League as well as on the main team in 2024–25. This is especially likely given that the Warriors are changing their roster in an effort to get younger players to contribute.
The Warriors haven’t made many big offseason acquisitions thus far, preferring to concentrate on growing young players like Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski.
