As is customary, the Champion of Champions draw consists of 16 players who have won awards on different tours throughout the previous 12 months.

The current winner, Ronnie O’Sullivan, has won the competition a record four times.

The first-round match is played over seven frames with the format increasing to eleven frames for the following two rounds, before a best-of-19 frame final determines the champion.

The 2022 Scottish Open winner Gary Wilson, the reigning Snooker Shoot Out champion Chris Wakelin, and women’s world champion Baipat Siripaporn all make debuts this year.

After finishing in the 16th and last position in the draw, Zhang Anda will also be making his debut.

At the International Championship on Sunday, the Chinese participant won his maiden ranking event with excellent style.

After winning the British Open and European Masters this season, respectively, Mark Williams and Barry Hawkins return to the competition.

Jimmy White’s record-breaking fourth World Seniors Championship victory has put him back in the running for the first time since 2020.

Along with the English pair of Ali Carter and Robert Milkins, there’s Luca Brecel and Mark Selby, who fought in a dramatic World Championship final in May.

UPDATE: Ronnie O’Sullivan, the defending champion, pulled out of the competition on day two citing health concerns. Ding Junhui took his place.
