Ohio State proposes tuition, housing, and meal plan cost increases.….

The Ohio State Board of Trustees will explore raising tuition, housing, and food plan prices for the 2024-2025 academic year. Tuition for new freshmen is proposed to increase by 3%, or $385, for the 2023-2024 academic year. The 3% increase is less than the national inflation rate of 4.1% each year.

The increase would raise the annual cost of in-state tuition to $13,244 and the cost of the most popular on-campus housing and meal options to $14,810, for a total of little more than $28,000. General graduate tuition rates and regional campus tuition rates are also expected to rise by 3%.

The recommendation before the board also includes the continuation of the Ohio State Tuition Guarantee programme for the eighth consecutive year, which assures that a student’s tuition and fees will remain the same throughout his or her degree programme. Currently, Ohio State is the fourth most costly public university in the state for in-state tuition.
