Green Bay packer, coach have buy Player, 50million us dollars for…….
Chief Executive Officer Matt LaFleur of the Green Bay Packers discusses the team’s defensive performance.
Former NFL quarterback Sean Mannion, a student of Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur, has joined the coaching staff.
Brady Henderson of ESPN.com said that Mannion will focus on the passing game and quarterbacks.
In the NFL, Mannion played for nine years. Notably, in 2017 he was a member of the Los Angeles Rams, when LaFleur served as offensive coordinator. Before perhaps taking on Mannion and the Minnesota Vikings in 2021, LaFleur remarked, “I don’t think I have to dig up many notes.” “What a wonderful person and teammate, first and foremost. He has an enormous arm. What the coaches tell him is exactly what he will do. In that sense, he is quite trustworthy. I have a great deal of respect for him as a player as well as a person.
After being selected in the third round by the St. Louis Rams in 2015, Mannion spent this season’s practice sessions with both the Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks. His final playing experience came during a Week 17 2021 Vikings game at Lambeau Field against the Packers, where he completed 22 of 36 passes for 189 yards and his lone career touchdown, but Green Bay won 37-10.
14 games were played by Mannion in his career, with the Rams having a career-high five games in 2017. Throughout his career, he completed 60.9 percent of his passes for a 66.2 rating, one touchdown, and three interceptions.
There are several reasons why the hire makes sense. One was the 70th birthday of seasoned quarterbacks coach Tom Clements in June. LaFleur is hoping that Clements will be back for a minimum of one more season. The Packers will ultimately require a new position coach, even if he does.
That is something I believe we will resolve. LaFleur declared at the conclusion of the season, “I’m hopeful.” He has a lengthy history of doing this. He has, in my opinion, the right to choose what’s best for himself and his family. Undoubtedly, he made a significant sacrifice by moving to Green Bay and giving up his life in California.
However, I can’t say enough good things about the coach and the impact he has had on us. Two years ago, I had no idea what we would end up getting into, but I believe Tom has made us all better off overall. Having Tom around has made me a better coach, in my opinion. Tom’s presence was definitely beneficial to our guys, in my opinion. He’s a fantastic friend, coach, and man.
Second, Green Bay’s passing game, which was the youngest in the league at the beginning of the season, turned into a potent attack in the second half of the season thanks to the work of receivers coach and passing game coordinator Jason Vrable. Mannion may be prepared to assume the role of coordinator if Vrable ever gets the opportunity.
Third, as with Vrable, Clements has benefited over the last two years from the assistance of the team’s assistant quarterbacks coach, Connor Lewis, who is also one of LaFleur’s right-hand men. Lewis will eventually be considered for a promotion, as he is represented by the same agency, Athletes First, as quarterback Jordan Love, so there is presumably a preexisting relationship.
