NBA player Jayson Tatum’s one-word response to his father’s hiring as head coach
When his father was hired as an NBL head coach, Jayson Tatum, a star player for the Celtics, had one thing to say.

The NBL’s Illawarra Hawks have named Justin Tatum their interim head coach, so the congrats are well-deserved. Following last season’s 3-25 bottom-place finish, the team announced on Tuesday morning that coach Jacob Jackomas would not be sticking around for the duration of the season. This came after the team opened the season with a 2-7 record.

The 44-year-old father of the Boston Celtics star, Tatum, joined the team earlier this year in scouting and special advisory roles, and the team feels he is the kind of guy who can help them turn things around.

At St. Louis Christian College High School, where Justin played high school basketball, the team won a state championship in 1997. He was selected as a member of the Conference USA First Team All-Defense player while attending St. Louis University.

Eventually, his basketball career brought him to the Netherlands. At that time, Jayson was just a young child, and the two of them had not seen each other very often.

The star player for the Boston Celtics was eight years old when his injured father Justin returned to Missouri from Europe.Although many NBA fans may not be aware of Jayson Tatum’s achievements with the Celtics, it’s possible that his father was the one who helped him grow up. Later, Tatum clarified the hiring, as reported by Bobby Krivitsky of SportsMap Radio:

Yes, I did discover that last night. I’m so proud of him and thrilled for him. That’s quite a leap. I am aware that he is working to advance both his coaching career and résumé. Won multiple state titles in high school. distinct teams. has spent the last four months in Australia, where he currently serves as the Hawks’ head coach. I’m thrilled for him and anticipate that he will help turn around that organization.

On Sunday, November 19, Illawarra will play its first game under Tatum when the Hawks visit Spark Arena to play the Breakers.

The next game his son will play is on Wednesday when the Celtics play the Philadelphia 76ers on the road.
