News now: Following a brutal loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers….

Despite having several opportunities, the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Green Bay Packers 23–19 on Sunday. The Packers’ season record now stands at 3-6, and they are no longer even in the running for the playoffs.

Though many think the team will need to use free agency and the trade market if they want to address every area of weakness on the team, the Packers still have the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. An on-field leader who has been connected to the Packers in the past has been identified once more as a prime candidate for the team’s roster for the upcoming campaign.

In 2024, Freddie Boston of Fansided assembled his “dream lineup” for the Packers. The list included Chinn:

For the Packers, Jeremy Chinn would be the ideal free agent acquisition. He is capable of playing slot corner, safety, and even linebacker. He could start for the Packers at safety, but he could also take Keisean Nixon’s place in the slot.

Chinn’s adaptability and capacity for coverage benefit Green Bay’s secondary right away.

Prior to the trade deadline this season, it was reported that the Carolina Panthers were amenable to trading Chinn. Nevertheless, Chinn is expected to be among the best Safety options available in free agency when his rookie contract expires at the end of the 2023 campaign.

Surprisingly, the Packers defense has only allowed the second fewest touchdown passes (8) and the sixth fewest passing yards (1,688) thus far. Conversely, they are ranked 25th in terms of rush yards permitted (1,197). And for a secondary that just lost Rasul Douglas, adding Chinn would be huge.

With the exception of their rush defense, the Packers’ defense hasn’t performed as poorly as predicted this season. lent level that is currently there could be greatly improved by simply retooling a few positions and perhaps hiring a new defensive coordinator.
