The Spurs presently have eight players on their roster who were selected in the last five drafts, as Marilyn noted yesterday. Additionally, they exercised their options on Luke Samanic, Keldon Johnson, and Lonnie Walker IV. For Spurs supporters, however, Derrick White’s contract extension was the biggest story of the previous 48 hours.
White signed a four-year/$73M extension to continue the great work he has done with the Spurs. He sat down and answered some questions regarding the extension process, his future, and how he has acclimated to San Antonio.

“It was crazy it’s a different feeling definitely from draft day, but I am happy that we came to a decision. I am happy to be here for four more years. I was excited to get drafted here, just to be a part of this organization so it’s nice having that level of comfort be in a place where I like everyone around here. They want the best for me as a person and as a player, so I’m really excited about staying here.
