RECURRING SAD NEWS: another very brutal injury concern boston celticts ….

Alex Karaban, a forward for UConn and a native of Massachusetts, will have friends and family cheering him on Thursday night as March Madness takes over TD Garden. For the 21-year-old, who is renowned for his 3-point shooting, getting the opportunity to hammer the parquet on the Celtics’ home court is a dream come true.

“To travel to Boston and perform at TD Garden,” stated Olga Karaban, his mother. He has been a Celtics fan since he was a small child.

At 7:39 p.m., UConn plays the San Diego State Aztecs in the Sweet 16 tournament. However, Karaban will not be performing in the illustrious Boston arena for the first time. His team participated in a competition at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough while he was a freshman. According to Karaban’s mother, he began playing basketball when he was approximately 8 years old. He first participated in town teams in Southborough before moving on to travel teams.

Olga Karaban remarked, “You just drive your kids to practices and games, and you never expected him to win a championship.” We were able to identify his ability when he was a little older. And he adores it. You know, all of his effort paid off.

Former assistant coach Andrew Gale of Alex Karaban echoed

Karaban’s former coach can’t make the Huskies’ Sweet 16 rematch against the Aztecs. But a small army of the player’s friends and family will be there, including his dad Alexi and mom Olga, who’s from Ukraine. Her son’s game is like a ray of light during dark times, she said, and she’s happy this one is close to home.

“We’re excited to be in Boston,” Olga Karaban said. “Last year we went to Vegas, so this is a closer trip.” Then, with a laugh she added, “Go UConn. Go Huskies!”
