The San Francisco 49ers announced on Thursday they have signed DL Nick Bosa and WR Deebo Samuel to four-year deals. With the signings, the 49ers now have all eight of the team’s 2019 draft picks under contract.

 

Bosa (6-4, 266) was selected by the 49ers as the second overall pick in this year’s draft out of Ohio State. He appeared in 30 games (10 starts) in three seasons at with the Buckeyes (2016-18) and registered 77 tackles, 17.5 sacks, 29 tackles for loss, two passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. As a junior in 2018, he started all three games in which he appeared and finished the season with 14 tackles, six tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble, earning All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors. In 2017, he was named Big Ten Smith-Brown Defensive Lineman of the Year and an All-American by the American Football Coaches Association after appearing in 14 games (seven starts) and registering 34 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, a team-high 8.5 sacks and one forced fumble. As a freshman in 2016, Bosa earned Freshman All-American honors from ESPN after appearing in 13 games for the Buckeyes and finishing with 29 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks.

 

A 21-year-old native of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Bosa attended St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, FL) High School.

 

Samuel (6-0, 210) was selected by the 49ers in the second round (36th overall) of this year’s draft out of South Carolina. He appeared in 30 games (27 starts) in five years with the Gamecocks (2014-18) and registered 148 receptions for 2,076 yards and 16 touchdowns. As a kick returner, he recorded 42 returns for 1,219 yards (29.0 average) and four touchdowns while also notching 25 rushing attempts for 154 yards and seven rushing touchdowns, while also converting both passing attempts in his career for touchdowns.
