Brysten Martinez Pledges to LSU
Tigers Secure a Key In-State Prospect for 2026.
LSU received significant recruiting news early Thursday as four-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez announced his verbal commitment to the Tigers.
The standout lineman from East Ascension High School chose LSU over several top programs, including Alabama, Texas A&M, Oregon, Tennessee, Penn State, and Georgia. According to the On3 composite rankings, Martinez is ranked No. 59 nationally, the No. 8 offensive tackle, and the No. 5 prospect in Louisiana’s exceptionally strong 2026 class.
Louisiana consistently produces elite high school talent, and the 2026 class appears to be one of the best in recent years. Despite Martinez being a top-60 recruit nationwide, he ranks only fifth in the state, highlighting the depth of talent in Louisiana.
Currently, Louisiana boasts six players ranked in On3’s top 83. The class features five-star prospects Lamar Brown, an interior offensive lineman from U-High, and Blaine Bradford, a safety from Catholic High. Edna Karr’s powerhouse program has two top-40 recruits—defensive tackle Richard Anderson and safety Aiden Hall—both already committed to LSU.
Destrehan’s Jabari Mack, a four-star wide receiver, is also among the state’s top players.
With commitments from Anderson, Hall, and Martinez, LSU has already secured half of the state’s premier talent and remains in a strong position to land the remaining top prospects. With 10 months until the Early Signing Period, this group could form the foundation of a championship-caliber recruiting class for LSU.
