Caitlin Clark named 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year

Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever’s standout 22-year-old guard, has been named the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, narrowly missing a unanimous decision by just one vote. Out of 67 ballots from sportswriters and broadcasters, Clark received 66 first-place votes, with Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese capturing the remaining one.

Clark’s rookie campaign was extraordinary, shattering several WNBA records. She set the league’s single-season marks for points scored (769), assists (337), and three-pointers made (122). Averaging 19.2 points, 8.4 assists (a new league record), 5.7 rebounds, and 1.33 steals per game across 40 regular-season starts, Clark established herself as a force to be reckoned with from the very start of her professional career.

In addition to her Rookie of the Year accolade, Clark was named the Associated Press’s Rookie of the Year earlier this week and earned a spot as a starter in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game. She also took home the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month award for August and was a four-time Kia WNBA Rookie of the Month winner.
