OXNARD, California — Jerry Jones, the general manager of the Cowboys, spoke with the media shortly after the opening ceremony to formally begin training camp. This was the first time since Sunday, when Packers quarterback Jordan Love signed a four-year, $220 million contract that directly involved talks with Dak Prescott, the star quarterback of the team.
Jones remained silent when asked how Love’s agreement may alter the conversation at the negotiating table, but he did express gratitude that Prescott was able to attend training camp.

“I get in trouble when I make comparisons,” he stated. “I’m anxious for Dak to show that he’s the best with that Cowboys star.”
When questioned if Prescott, whose contract is about to expire, can play at his peak in the upcoming year,?

As he continues his training camp holdout on day three, CeeDee Lamb has another important contract on the table. Stephen Jones, the executive vice president of the Cowboys, acknowledged on Friday that Lamb and his representative received a fresh offer from the front office.
